DOME LEAGUE & ANNUAL DINNER CHAMPIONS

The DOME met last Saturday, 13th March 2009, for the Annual BASH at Frilford Heath Golf Club !

19 hearty players ventured out full of anticipation as to how they would fare off their DOME handicaps playing for the DOME Annual Cup cup or whether they might be serving the drinks! Yours truly foolishly offered to assist the 'Fat Man' if I was second from bottom (thinking I would be no where near it) just managing to be 3rd from bottom and escaped whilst Long John did the honours until James Coetzee came in scoring only 24 points to finish the job.

Big Gun, Clive Brandon won the Cup returning a wonderful 40 points off 4 or 5 we haven't checked yet but he will play off 2 next time out!

The League this year was challenged all the way to the last meeting in December with Bob Mann stealing it off temporary greens with a win getting 200 points with Mark Smith and Gary Latham both on 196 points in second place which shows just how steady these 3 players have been all year - and 2 of them were Fat Man once each - well done Bob!

The outgoing Captain, Glyn Hall, handed over the captaincy to one of the 'oldest' or, should I say founder members of the DOME, Simon Bishop who once said he wouldn't take this job knowing what it would be like best described by Glyn as like herding cats!

DOME League Change - it was decided that the DOME Annual dinner will now be in April/May each year which means the League will run from Jan 2010 to Mar 2011 for this year and then from Apr to Mar each year thereafter.
