The Hunter Golf Society had their first meeting on Thursday 29th April 2010.

16 members and 4 guests opened the 2010 batting for the Hunter on a well prepared, but tricky, golf course at Stratford Upon Avon.  The bad weather held off until after lunch when none of us really wanted to go out but after a while the rain eased and the 'hunt' was on to win the Opening Trophy.  Yours truly had a mobile phone call 'shock' (naughty, naughty - should not have answered it!) on how much roofing repairs was to cost and let the trophy slip from my grasp whilst veterans Alastair Rathbone and John Middleton fought it out with Alastair seeing John off on count back with 39 points!  (Alastair 15 now off 13 - John 13 now off 12 - tee hee better chance of getting my pound back off John next time!

In the morning pairs competition, big gun Bob Perkins with 300yd drives but not always in a straight line, with formula one driver comes natural Mick Faulkner - (spoke with Mr Plod I believe on the way there) saw off Neil Tanner and his guest Barry King on count back with 22 points.  Sam Younan with his guest Steve Murray, came third with 21 points.

Incoming Captain, Tony Osborne, welcomed members and their guests to the first meeting and after 'teasing' Mick Faulkner for not watching his speed handed over proceedings to Club Organiser, Neil Tanner to announce the winners for the day - of the 20 attending 9 received prizes 3 more got a mention and the rest were wondering whether they might get onto the podium at the next meeting which is at Burford on 27th May!

Welcome to three of the four guests who attended, Jonathan Carpenter, Barry King and Phil Holmes who have now joined the Hunter - enjoy!
